Practice makes perfect—the tricky part of making is not always the “how to” but sometimes just the “when.” Ensure time is taken each week to work from the figure. This open-figure studio provides a safe and social atmosphere in which to work independently or get help from a participating instructor. This program will provide time for artists to work independently from the live model in the media of their choice and see how others work. Bring your materials. Figure Session:https://telfair.ticketapp.org/portal/product/88/packages This course is for intermediate painters who want the richer experience of working directly from a live model in an extended pose rather than from secondary sources. While no formal instruction will be provided, the interactive experience of working in a group is a valuable improvement tool. In addition, individual assistance will be available to those who desire it. Often, a second pair of eyes is needed for the work. Please bring your own materials. The Maine Drawing Exchange is an artist and model run collective where people of all backgrounds and experience levels are welcome to come together to learn and practice the art of drawing. Drawing is essential to the foundation of a visual artist and our core mission is to celebrate that and make it available to the public. Our drop in sessions focus on the human form, but we also offer drawing opportunities without the human body including beginner drawing classes and workshops using still life, landscapes and clothed models. Come draw with us!
